A call to switchdev_port_obj_add() or switchdev_port_obj_del() involves initializing a struct switchdev_obj_port_vlan, a piece of code that repeats on each call site almost verbatim. While in the current codebase there is just one duplicated add call, the follow-up patches add more of both add and del calls. Thus to remove the duplication, extract the repetition into named functions and reuse. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
