Commit 3d8598fb9c ("clk: ti: clkctrl: use fallback udelay approach if
timekeeping is suspended") added handling for cases when timekeeping is
suspended. But looks like we can still get occasional "failed to enable"
errors on the PM runtime resume path with udelay() returning faster than
expected.
With ti-sysc interconnect target module driver this leads into device
failure with PM runtime failing with "failed to enable" clkctrl error.
Let's fix the issue with a delay of two times the desired delay as in
often done for udelay() to account for the inaccuracy.

Yegor Yefremov <yegorslists@googlemail.com> reported that musb and ftdi
uart can fail for the first open of the uart unless connected using
a hub.
This is because the first dma call done by musb_ep_program() must wait
if cppi41 is PM runtime suspended. Otherwise musb_ep_program() continues
with other non-dma packets before the DMA transfer is started causing at
least ftdi uarts to fail to receive data.
Let's fix the issue by waking up cppi41 with PM runtime calls added to
cppi41_dma_prep_slave_sg() and return NULL if still idled. This way we
have musb_ep_program() continue with PIO until cppi41 is awake.

I noticed that when probed with ti-sysc, watchdog can trigger on am3, am4
and dra7 causing a device reset.
Turns out I made several mistakes implementing the watchdog quirk handling:
1. We must do both writes to spr register
2. We must also call the reset quirk on disable
3. On am3 and am4 we need to also set swsup quirk flag
I probably only tested this earlier with watchdog service running when the
watchdog never gets disabled.

Commit 572cf7d7b0 ("ARM: dts: Improve omap l4per idling with wlcore edge
sensitive interrupt") changed wlcore interrupts to use edge interrupt based
on what's specified in the wl1835mod.pdf data sheet.
However, there are still cases where we can have lost interrupts as
described in omap_gpio_unidle(). And using a level interrupt instead of edge
interrupt helps as we avoid the check for untriggered GPIO interrupts in
omap_gpio_unidle().
And with commit e6818d29ea ("gpio: gpio-omap: configure edge detection
for level IRQs for idle wakeup") GPIOs idle just fine with level interrupts.
Let's change omap4 and 5 wlcore users back to using level interrupt
instead of edge interrupt. Let's not change the others as I've only seen
this on omap4 and 5, probably because the other SoCs don't have l4per idle
independent of the CPUs.

TRM "Table 13-34. SYSCONFIG Register Field Descriptions" lists both
standbymode and idlemode that should be just the sidle and midle
registers where midle is currently unconfigured for lcdc_sysc. As
the dts data has been generated based on lcdc_sysc, we now have an
empty "ti,sysc-midle" property.
And so we currently get a warning for lcdc because of a difference
with dts provided configuration compared to the legacy platform
data. This is because lcdc has SYSC_HAS_MIDLEMODE configured in
the platform data without configuring the modes.
Let's fix the issue by adding the missing midlemode to lcdc_sysc,
and configuring the "ti,sysc-midle" property based on the TRM

For ti,sysc-omap4 compatible devices with no sysstatus register, we do have
reset done status available in the SOFTRESET bit that clears when the reset
is done. This is documented for example in am437x TRM for DMTIMER_TIOCP_CFG
register. The am335x TRM just says that SOFTRESET bit value 1 means reset is
ongoing, but it behaves the same way clearing after reset is done.
With the ti-sysc driver handling this automatically based on no sysstatus
register defined, we see warnings if SYSC_HAS_RESET_STATUS is missing in the
legacy platform data:
ti-sysc 48042000.target-module: sysc_flags 00000222 != 00000022
ti-sysc 48044000.target-module: sysc_flags 00000222 != 00000022
ti-sysc 48046000.target-module: sysc_flags 00000222 != 00000022
...
Let's fix these warnings by adding SYSC_HAS_RESET_STATUS. Let's also
remove the useless parentheses while at it.
If it turns out we do have ti,sysc-omap4 compatible devices without a
working SOFTRESET bit we can set up additional quirk handling for it.

For many years omap variants have been setting the runtime PM
autosuspend delay to -1 to prevent unsafe policy with lossy first
character on wake-up. The user must specifically enable the timeout
for UARTs if desired.
We must not enable the workaround for serdev devices though. It leads
into UARTs not idling if no serdev devices are loaded and there is no
sysfs entry to configure the UART in that case. And this means that
my PM may not work unless the serdev modules are loaded.
We can detect a serdev device being configured based on a dts child
node, and we can simply skip the workround in that case. And the
serdev driver can idle the port during runtime when suitable if an
out-of-band wake-up GPIO line exists for example.
Let's also add some comments to the workaround while at it.

Looks like the boost control for VBUS is CPCAP_BIT_VBUS_SWITCH that we

In preparation for dropping legacy platform data and custom ti,hwmods
property, we need to make functional clock available for mdio for the
SoCs so the the mdio driver can find it.
The mdio hardware currently relies on a mdio_hwmod to manage the clock
for omap variants. This is wrong though as there are no separate
sysconfig registers for mdio. All the cpsw related components are just
children of the gmac module.
Note that since mdio is a child of cpsw, just doing pm_runtime_get()
in the mdio driver enables the clock. However, since mdio is also used
by davinci that does not implement runtime PM, let's just add the fck
for now.
Also note that am437x mdio already has a clock, let's update it to
not use the legacy clock naming to unify things further.

On Motorola Mapphone devices such as Droid 4 there are five USB ports
that do not use the same layout as Gobi 1K/2K/etc devices listed in
qcserial.c. So we should use qcaux.c or option.c as noted by
Dan Williams <dan.j.williams@intel.com>.
As the Motorola USB serial ports have an interrupt endpoint as shown
with lsusb -v, we should use option.c instead of qcaux.c as pointed out
by Johan Hovold <johan@kernel.org>.
The ff/ff/ff interfaces seem to always be UARTs on Motorola devices.
For the other interfaces, class 0x0a (CDC Data) should not in general
be added as they are typically part of a multi-interface function as
noted earlier by Bjørn Mork <bjorn@mork.no>.
However, looking at the Motorola mapphone kernel code, the mdm6600 0x0a
class is only used for flashing the modem firmware, and there are no
other interfaces. So I've added that too with more details below as it
works just fine.
The ttyUSB ports on Droid 4 are:
ttyUSB0 DIAG, CQDM-capable
ttyUSB1 MUX or NMEA, no response
ttyUSB2 MUX or NMEA, no response
ttyUSB3 TCMD
ttyUSB4 AT-capable
The ttyUSB0 is detected as QCDM capable by ModemManager. I think
it's only used for debugging with ModemManager --debug for sending
custom AT commands though. ModemManager already can manage data
connection using the USB QMI ports that are already handled by the
qmi_wwan.c driver.
To enable the MUX or NMEA ports, it seems that something needs to be
done additionally to enable them, maybe via the DIAG or TCMD port.
It might be just a NVRAM setting somewhere, but I have no idea what
NVRAM settings may need changing for that.
The TCMD port seems to be a Motorola custom protocol for testing
the modem and to configure it's NVRAM and seems to work just fine
based on a quick test with a minimal tcmdrw tool I wrote.
The voice modem AT-capable port seems to provide only partial
support, and no PM support compared to the TS 27.010 based UART
wired directly to the modem.
The UARTs added with this change are the same product IDs as the
Motorola Mapphone Android Linux kernel mdm6600_id_table. I don't
have any mdm9600 based devices, so I have only tested these on
mdm6600 based droid 4.
Then for the class 0x0a (CDC Data) mode, the Motorola Mapphone Android
Linux kernel driver moto_flashqsc.c just seems to change the
port->bulk_out_size to 8K from the default. And is only used for
flashing the modem firmware it seems.
I've verified that flashing the modem with signed firmware works just
fine with the option driver after manually toggling the GPIO pins, so
I've added droid 4 modem flashing mode to the option driver. I've not
added the other devices listed in moto_flashqsc.c in case they really
need different port->bulk_out_size. Those can be added as they get
tested to work for flashing the modem.
After this patch the output of /sys/kernel/debug/usb/devices has

Commit 4e27f752ab ("ARM: OMAP2+: Drop mmc platform data for am330x and
am43xx") dropped legacy mmc platform data for am3 and am4, but missed the
fact that we never updated the dts files for mmc3 that is directly on l3
interconnect instead of l4 interconnect. This leads to a situation with
no legacy platform data and incomplete dts data.
Let's update the mmc instances on l3 interconnect to probe properly with
ti-sysc interconnect target module driver to make mmc3 work again. Let's
still keep legacy "ti,hwmods" property around for v5.2 kernel and only
drop it later on.
Note that there is no need to use property status = "disabled" for mmc3.
The default for dts is enabled, and runtime PM will idle unused instances
just fine.

If an edge interrupt triggers while entering idle just before we save
GPIO datain register to saved_datain, the triggered GPIO will not be
noticed on wake-up. This is because the saved_datain and GPIO datain
are the same on wake-up in omap_gpio_unidle(). Let's fix this by
ignoring any pending edge interrupts for saved_datain.
This issue affects only idle states where the GPIO module internal
wake-up path is operational. For deeper idle states where the GPIO
module gets powered off, Linux generic wakeirqs must be used for
the padconf wake-up events with pinctrl-single driver. For examples,
please see "interrupts-extended" dts usage in many drivers.
This issue can be somewhat easily reproduced by pinging an idle system
with smsc911x Ethernet interface configured IRQ_TYPE_EDGE_FALLING. At
some point the smsc911x interrupts will just stop triggering. Also if
WLCORE WLAN is used with EDGE interrupt like it's documentation specifies,
we can see lost interrupts without this patch.
Note that in the long run we may be able to cancel entering idle by
returning an error in gpio_omap_cpu_notifier() on pending interrupts.
But let's fix the bug first.
Also note that because of the recent clean-up efforts this patch does
not apply directly to older kernels. This does fix a long term issue
though, and can be backported as needed.

We need to let ti-sysc driver manage clockdomain autoidle for the
duration of of reset, enable and idle. And we need to do it before we
enable the clock and after we disable it. Currently we are still
relying on platform callbacks indirectly managing clockdomain autoidle.
But I noticed that for device tree only probed drivers it now happens
only after we enabling the clocks and before we disable the clocks,
while it should be the other way around. So far I have not noticed
any issues with this though.
Let's add new ti_sysc_clkdm_deny_idle() and ti_sysc_clkdm_allow_idle()
functions for ti-sysc driver to use to manage clockdomains directly via
platform data callbacks. Note that we can implement the clockdomain
functions in pdata-quirks.c as for probing devices without "ti,hwmods"
custom property we don't need to use the other platform data callbacks.
Let's do this in one patch as there's is still an unlikely chance we
may need to apply this as a fix for v5.2 for dropping legacy platform
data for some devices. We also do have the option of adding back the
platform data if needed in case of trouble.

And then any following register access will produce errors.
There 2d offset above is register ACCCTL that gets written on twl6040
powerup. With error checking added to the related regcache_sync() call,
the -EREMOTEIO error is reproducable on twl6040 powerup at least
duovero.
To fix the error, we need to wait until twl6040 is accessible after the

Reading the module revision register can cause an external abort on
non-linefetch depending of osc clock is not already enabled. This
started happening with commit 1a5cd7c23c ("bus: ti-sysc: Enable all
clocks directly during init to read revision") as reported by
Sebastian Andrzej Siewior <bigeasy@linutronix.de>.
The reason why the issue happens is because we now attempt to read the
interconnect target module revision register by first manually enabling
all the device clocks in sysc_probe(). And looks like d_can also needs
the osc clock in addition to the module clock, and it may or may not be
enabled depending on the bootloader version and if other devices have
already requested osc clock.
Let's fix the issue by adding osc clock as an optional clock for the
module for am335x. Note that am437x does not seem to list the osc clock
at all, so presumably it is not needed for am437x.
I also noticed that we're incorrectly assuming the revision register for
d_can exists. But the module does not seem to have any revision, sysconfig
or sysstatus registers. But that's mostly a cosmetic issues, so I'll send
a patch separately for that.

I noticed that musb is blocking core retention for omap4 unlike for
omap3. This is because for omap3 we have phy-twl4030-usb implement
it's own PM runtime to handle errata "VUSB3V1 VBUS overvoltage
debouncer not working when the PHY is powered down". That is done
in order to keep the USB PHY powered when phy-twl4030-usb is loaded.
For the other USB PHYs, we need to enable and disable the PHY based on
musb PM runtime. With the session bit based PM runtime for musb core,
we can now idle the USB PHY always when musb is idle.

phy-twl4030-usb:
WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 1080 at drivers/regulator/core.c:2046 _regulator_put
...
Turns out we can currently miss disconnect at least for cases where status
is 0 and linkstat is 0. And in that case doing rmmod phy-twl4030-usb will
produce the regulator_put() warning.
This is because the missed disconnect causes unbalanced PM runtime calls
and the regulators will be on exit.
Let's fix the issue by using an atomic flag for the cable state to make
sure that PM runtime won't get out of sync with the cable state. That
way we can also simplify the code a bit.
Note that we can also drop the old comments, those relate to issues that
the battery charger driver and musb driver is dealing with rather than
the USB PHY driver.

We can now add l4 abe interconnect hierarchy and ti-sysc data with
ti-sysc driver supporting external optional clocks needed by mcpdm.
This data is generated based on platform data from a booted system
and the interconnect acces protection registers for ranges. To avoid
regressions, we initially validate the device tree provided data
against the existing platform data on boot.
Note that mcpdm we now need to enable at module level only for devices
that have the external pdmclk wired from the PMIC as the clock is
needed for the module to be accessible.
Also note that abe seems to be the same as on omap4 except for domains
and clocks and we may be able to combine the l4 abe data later on.
But let's play it safe and just initially use what we have already
defined in the platform data.

The mcpdm module found on omap4 and 5 needs pdmclk clock from
the pmic that may or may not be wired. Without this clock we
cannot read the registers for mcpdm at all. For the external
mcpdm clock to work, it needs to be muxed at the module level
for ti-sysc driver probe to mux it early enough for probe.
Let's set up a common file for it to make things a bit easier
to make l4 abe interconnect to probe with ti-sysc driver. Note
that this is not needed for omap5 as we can just update mcpdm
muxing in omap5-board-common.dtsi in later patches.
