A user may call listen with binding an explicit port with the intent
that the kernel will assign an available port to the socket. In this
case inet_csk_get_port does a port scan. For such sockets, the user may
also set soreuseport with the intent a creating more sockets for the
port that is selected. The problem is that the initial socket being
opened could inadvertently choose an existing and unreleated port
number that was already created with soreuseport.
This patch adds a boolean parameter to inet_bind_conflict that indicates
rather soreuseport is allowed for the check (in addition to
sk->sk_reuseport). In calls to inet_bind_conflict from inet_csk_get_port
the argument is set to true if an explicit port is being looked up (snum
argument is nonzero), and is false if port scan is done.

inet_csk_get_port is called with port number (snum argument) that may be
zero or nonzero. If it is zero, then the intent is to find an available
ephemeral port number to bind to. If snum is non-zero then the caller
is asking to allocate a specific port number. In the latter case we
never want to perform the scan in ephemeral port range. It is
conceivable that this can happen if the "goto again" in "tb_found:"
is done. This patch adds a check that snum is zero before doing
the "goto again".

commit ca26893f05 ("rhashtable: Add rhlist interface")
added a field to rhashtable_iter so that length became 56 bytes
and would exceed the size of args in netlink_callback (which is
48 bytes). The netlink diag dump function already has been
allocating a iter structure and storing the pointed to that
in the args of netlink_callback. ila_xlat also uses
rhahstable_iter but is still putting that directly in
the arg block. Now since rhashtable_iter size is increased
we are overwriting beyond the structure. The next field
happens to be cb_mutex pointer in netlink_sock and hence the crash.
Fix is to alloc the rhashtable_iter and save it as pointer
in arg.

Add a dst_cache to ila_lwt structure. This holds a cached route for the
translated address. In ila_output we now perform a route lookup after
translation and if possible (destination in original route is full 128
bits) we set the dst_cache. Subsequent calls to ila_output can then use
the cache to avoid the route lookup.
This eliminates the need to set the gateway on ILA routes as previously
was being done. Now we can do something like:

Problem is that this is doing a BUILD_BUG_ON on a non-constant

Fix is to create MLX5_ARRAY_SET64 that takes an additional argument
that is the field index to separate between BUILD_BUG_ON on the array
constant field and the indexed field to assign the value to.
There are two callers of MLX5_SET64 that are trying to get a variable

as the arguments to use in the offset check and the indexed value
assignment.

This patch introduces a utility for parsing application layer protocol
messages in a TCP stream. This is a generalization of the mechanism
implemented of Kernel Connection Multiplexor.
The API includes a context structure, a set of callbacks, utility
functions, and a data ready function.
A stream parser instance is defined by a strparse structure that
is bound to a TCP socket. The function to initialize the structure
is:
int strp_init(struct strparser *strp, struct sock *csk,
struct strp_callbacks *cb);
csk is the TCP socket being bound to and cb are the parser callbacks.
The upper layer calls strp_tcp_data_ready when data is ready on the lower
socket for strparser to process. This should be called from a data_ready
callback that is set on the socket:
void strp_tcp_data_ready(struct strparser *strp);
A parser is bound to a TCP socket by setting data_ready function to
strp_tcp_data_ready so that all receive indications on the socket
go through the parser. This is assumes that sk_user_data is set to
the strparser structure.
There are four callbacks.
- parse_msg is called to parse the message (returns length or error).
- rcv_msg is called when a complete message has been received
- read_sock_done is called when data_ready function exits
- abort_parser is called to abort the parser
The input to parse_msg is an skbuff which contains next message under
construction. The backend processing of parse_msg will parse the
application layer protocol headers to determine the length of
the message in the stream. The possible return values are:
>0 : indicates length of successfully parsed message
0 : indicates more data must be received to parse the message
-ESTRPIPE : current message should not be processed by the
kernel, return control of the socket to userspace which
can proceed to read the messages itself
other < 0 : Error is parsing, give control back to userspace
assuming that synchronzation is lost and the stream
is unrecoverable (application expected to close TCP socket)
In the case of error return (< 0) strparse will stop the parser
and report and error to userspace. The application must deal
with the error. To handle the error the strparser is unbound
from the TCP socket. If the error indicates that the stream
TCP socket is at recoverable point (ESTRPIPE) then the application
can read the TCP socket to process the stream. Once the application
has dealt with the exceptions in the stream, it may again bind the
socket to a strparser to continue data operations.
Note that ENODATA may be returned to the application. In this case
parse_msg returned -ESTRPIPE, however strparser was unable to maintain
synchronization of the stream (i.e. some of the message in question
was already read by the parser).
strp_pause and strp_unpause are used to provide flow control. For
instance, if rcv_msg is called but the upper layer can't immediately
consume the message it can hold the message and pause strparser.

The algorithm for checksum neutral mapping is incorrect. This problem
was being hidden since we were previously always performing checksum
offload on the translated addresses and only with IPv6 HW csum.
Enabling an ILA router shows the issue.
Corrected algorithm:
old_loc is the original locator in the packet, new_loc is the value
to overwrite with and is found in the lookup table. old_flag is
the old flag value (zero of CSUM_NEUTRAL_FLAG) and new_flag is
then (old_flag ^ CSUM_NEUTRAL_FLAG) & CSUM_NEUTRAL_FLAG.
Need SUM(new_id + new_flag + diff) == SUM(old_id + old_flag) for
checksum neutral translation.
Solving for diff gives:
diff = (old_id - new_id) + (old_flag - new_flag)
compute_csum_diff8(new_id, old_id) gives old_id - new_id
If old_flag is set
old_flag - new_flag = old_flag = CSUM_NEUTRAL_FLAG
Else
old_flag - new_flag = -new_flag = ~CSUM_NEUTRAL_FLAG
Tested:
- Implemented a user space program that creates random addresses
and random locators to overwrite. Compares the checksum over
the address before and after translation (must always be equal)
- Enabled ILA router and showed proper operation.

When setting up ILA in a router we noticed that the the encapsulation
is invoked twice: once in the route input path and again upon route
output. To resolve this we add a flag set_csum_neutral for the
ila_update_ipv6_locator. If this flag is set and the checksum
neutral bit is also set we assume that checksum-neutral translation
has already been performed and take no further action. The
flag is set only in ila_output path. The flag is not set for ila_input and
ila_xlat.

When performing foo-over-UDP, UDP packets are processed by the
encapsulation handler which returns another protocol to process.
This may result in processing two (or more) protocols in the
loop that are marked as INET6_PROTO_FINAL. The actions taken
for hitting a final protocol, in particular the skb_postpull_rcsum
can only be performed once.
This patch set adds a check of a final protocol has been seen. The
rules are:
- If the final protocol has not been seen any protocol is processed
(final and non-final). In the case of a final protocol, the final
actions are taken (like the skb_postpull_rcsum)
- If a final protocol has been seen (e.g. an encapsulating UDP
header) then no further non-final protocols are allowed
(e.g. extension headers). For more final protocols the
final actions are not taken (e.g. skb_postpull_rcsum).

On output the csum-mode in the ila_params is checked and acted on. If

This patch adds GRO functions (gro_receive and gro_complete) to UDP
sockets. udp_gro_receive is changed to perform socket lookup on a
packet. If a socket is found the related GRO functions are called.
This features obsoletes using UDP offload infrastructure for GRO
(udp_offload). This has the advantage of not being limited to provide
offload on a per port basis, GRO is now applied to whatever individual
UDP sockets are bound to. This also allows the possbility of
"application defined GRO"-- that is we can attach something like
a BPF program to a UDP socket to perfrom GRO on an application
layer protocol.

Add externally visible functions to lookup a UDP socket by skb. This
will be used for GRO in UDP sockets. These functions also check
if skb->dst is set, and if it is not skb->dev is used to get dev_net.
This allows calling lookup functions before dst has been set on the
skbuff.

This patch adds receive timeout for message assembly on the attached TCP
sockets. The timeout is set when a new messages is started and the whole
message has not been received by TCP (not in the receive queue). If the
completely message is subsequently received the timer is cancelled, if the
timer expires the RX side is aborted.
The timeout value is taken from the socket timeout (SO_RCVTIMEO) that is
set on a TCP socket (i.e. set by get sockopt before attaching a TCP socket
to KCM.

Message assembly is performed on the TCP socket. This is logically
equivalent of an application that performs a peek on the socket to find
out how much memory is needed for a receive buffer. The receive socket
buffer also provides the maximum message size which is checked.
The receive algorithm is something like:
1) Receive the first skbuf for a message (or skbufs if multiple are
needed to determine message length).
2) Check the message length against the number of bytes in the TCP
receive queue (tcp_inq()).
- If all the bytes of the message are in the queue (incluing the
skbuf received), then proceed with message assembly (it should
complete with the tcp_read_sock)
- Else, mark the psock with the number of bytes needed to
complete the message.
3) In TCP data ready function, if the psock indicates that we are
waiting for the rest of the bytes of a messages, check the number
of queued bytes against that.
- If there are still not enough bytes for the message, just
return
- Else, clear the waiting bytes and proceed to receive the
skbufs. The message should now be received in one
tcp_read_sock

Add a new msg flag called MSG_BATCH. This flag is used in sendmsg to
indicate that more messages will follow (i.e. a batch of messages is
being sent). This is similar to MSG_MORE except that the following
messages are not merged into one packet, they are sent individually.
sendmmsg is updated so that each contained message except for the
last one is marked as MSG_BATCH.
MSG_BATCH is a performance optimization in cases where a socket

This patch add the SO_CNX_ADVICE socket option (setsockopt only). The
purpose is to allow an application to give feedback to the kernel about
the quality of the network path for a connected socket. The value
argument indicates the type of quality report. For this initial patch
the only supported advice is a value of 1 which indicates "bad path,
please reroute"-- the action taken by the kernel is to call
dst_negative_advice which will attempt to choose a different ECMP route,
reset the TX hash for flow label and UDP source port in encapsulation,
etc.
This facility should be useful for connected UDP sockets where only the
application can provide any feedback about path quality. It could also
be useful for TCP applications that have additional knowledge about the
path outside of the normal TCP control loop.

Add skb_csum_offload_chk driver helper function to determine if a
device with limited checksum offload capabilities is able to offload the
checksum for a given packet.
This patch includes:
- The skb_csum_offload_chk function. Returns true if checksum is
offloadable, else false. Optionally, in the case that the checksum
is not offloable, the function can call skb_checksum_help to resolve
the checksum. skb_csum_offload_chk also returns whether the checksum
refers to an encapsulated checksum.
- Definition of skb_csum_offl_spec structure that caller uses to
indicate rules about what it can offload (e.g. IPv4/v6, TCP/UDP only,
whether encapsulated checksums can be offloaded, whether checksum with
IPv6 extension headers can be offloaded).

The name NETIF_F_ALL_CSUM is a misnomer. This does not correspond to the
set of features for offloading all checksums. This is a mask of the
checksum offload related features bits. It is incorrect to set both
NETIF_F_HW_CSUM and NETIF_F_IP_CSUM or NETIF_F_IPV6 at the same time for
features of a device.

NETIF_F_ALL_CSUM is being used as a mask).
- Changes bonding, sfc/efx, ipvlan, macvlan, vlan, and team drivers to

In ___skb_get_hash ignore return value from skb_flow_dissect_flow_keys.
A failure in that function likely means that there was a parse error,
so we may as well use whatever fields were found before the error was
hit. This is also good because it means we won't keep trying to derive
the hash on subsequent calls to skb_get_hash for the same packet.

Add an input flag to flow dissector on rather dissection should be
stopped when a flow label is encountered. Presumably, the flow label
is derived from a sufficient hash of an inner transport packet so
further dissection is not needed (that is ports are not included in
the flow hash). Using the flow label instead of ports has the additional
benefit that packet fragments should hash to same value as non-fragments
for a flow (assuming that the same flow label is used).
