When sending ARP requests over AX.25 links the hwaddress in the neighbour
cache are not getting initialized. For such an incomplete arp entry
ax2asc2 will generate an empty string resulting in /proc/net/arp output
like the following:
$ cat /proc/net/arp
IP address HW type Flags HW address Mask Device
192.168.122.1 0x1 0x2 52:54:00:00:5d:5f * ens3
172.20.1.99 0x3 0x0 * bpq0
The missing field will confuse the procfs parsing of arp(8) resulting in
incorrect output for the device such as the following:
$ arp
Address HWtype HWaddress Flags Mask Iface
gateway ether 52:54:00:00:5d:5f C ens3
172.20.1.99 (incomplete) ens3
This changes the content of /proc/net/arp to:
$ cat /proc/net/arp
IP address HW type Flags HW address Mask Device
172.20.1.99 0x3 0x0 * * bpq0
192.168.122.1 0x1 0x2 52:54:00:00:5d:5f * ens3
To do so it change ax2asc to put the string "*" in buf for a NULL address
argument. Finally the HW address field is left aligned in a 17 character
field (the length of an ethernet HW address in the usual hex notation) for
readability.

There are multiple ingredients for this:
1) PAGE_NONE is defined to _CACHE_CACHABLE_NONCOHERENT, which is CCA 3
on all platforms except SB1 where it's CCA 5.
2) _page_cachable_default must have bits set which are not set
_CACHE_CACHABLE_NONCOHERENT.
3) Either the defective version of pte_modify for XPA or the standard
version must be in used. However pte_modify for the 36 bit address
space support is no affected.
In that case additional bits in the final CCA mode may generate an invalid
value for the CCA field. On the R10000 system where this was tracked
down for example a CCA 7 has been observed, which is Uncached Accelerated.
Fixed by:
1) Using the proper CCA mode for PAGE_NONE just like for all the other
PAGE_* pte/pmd bits.
2) Fix the two affected variants of pte_modify.
Further code inspection also shows the same issue to exist in pmd_modify
which would affect huge page systems.
Issue in pte_modify tracked down by Alastair Bridgewater, PAGE_NONE
and pmd_modify issue found by me.
The history of this goes back beyond Linus' git history. Chris Dearman's

It was calling flush_cache_all() which is a no-op since a long time anyway
and which was overkill in the old days when it was actually doing something
because only the D-cache needs to be flushed, never the I-cache, never

ARCH_USE_BUILTIN_BSWAP will use __builtin_bswap16(), __builtin_bswap32()

The entire bpf_jit_asm.S is written in noreorder mode because "we know
better" according to a comment. This also prevented the assembler from
throwing in the required NOPs for MIPS I processors which have no
load-use interlock, thus the load's consumer might end up using the
old value of the register from prior to the load.
Fixed by putting the assembler in reorder mode for just the affected
load instructions. This is not enough for gas to actually try to be
clever by looking at the next instruction and inserting a nop only
when needed but as the comment said "we know better", so getting gas
to unconditionally emit a NOP is just right in this case and prevents
adding further ifdefery.

Execution of break instruction, trap instructions, emulation of unaligned
loads or floating point instructions - anything that tries to read the
instruction's opcode from userspace - needs read access to a page.
RIXI (Read Inhibit / Execute Inhibit) support however allows the creation of
pags that are executable but not readable. On such a mapping the attempted
load of the opcode by the kernel is going to cause an endless loop of
page faults.
The quick workaround for this is to disable the combinations that the kernel
currently isn't able to handle which are executable mappings.

were never upstreamed and the only toolchain known to have them is

Always copy 4 stack arguments.) change the O32 syscall handler to always
load four arguments from the userspace stack even for syscalls that
require fewer or no arguments to be copied. This removes a large table
from kernel space and need to maintain it. It appeared that it was ok
the implementation chosen requires 16 bytes of readable stack space
above the user stack pointer.
Turned out a few threading implementations munmap the user stack before
the thread exits resulting in errors due to the unreadable stack.
We now treat any failed load as a if the loaded value was zero and let
the actual syscall deal with the situation.

All the necessary support code is already there so all that's left is
to enable the feature in kconfig.

Due to the slightly odd way that new threads and processes start execution
when scheduled for the very first time they were bypassing the required

If CONFIG_SERIAL_8250 is set to m, the Loongson seria.ko module might get
unloaded while the serial driver modules are still loaded resulting in
stale references to the destroyed platform_device instance.
Anyway, platform devices should always be registered indicated what
devices are present, _not_ what drivers have been configured.

Returns a non-zero value if the current processor implementation requires
an IHB instruction to deal with an instruction hazard as per MIPS R2
architecture specification, zero otherwise.
