libstdc++: Add conditional noexcept to remaining range access functions
Add conditional noexcept to the remaining range access functions that were not changed in r15-5669-g8692cb10e82e72. This is now being proposed for C++26 by P3623R0 (not published yet). libstdc++-v3/ChangeLog: * include/bits/range_access.h (rbegin, rend, crbegin, crend): Add conditional noexcept, as per P3623R0. * testsuite/24_iterators/headers/iterator/range_access.cc: Add noexcept-specifier to rbegin, rend, crbegin and crend declarations. |

libstdc++: #ifdef out #pragma GCC system_header
In r15-3714-gd3a7302ec5985a I added -Wsystem-headers to the libstdc++ build flags to help catch problems in the library. This patch takes a different approach, of disabling the #pragma system_header unless _GLIBCXX_SYSHDR is defined. As a result, the testsuites will treat them as non-system-headers to get better warning coverage during regression testing of both gcc and libstdc++, not just when building the library. My rationale for the #ifdef instead of just removing the #pragma is the three G++ tests that want to test libstdc++ system header behavior, so we need a way to select it. This doesn't affect installed libraries, as they get their system-header status from the lookup path. But testsuite_flags --build-includes gives -I directives rather than -isystem. This patch doesn't change the headers in config/ because I'm not compiling with most of them, so won't see any warnings that need fixing. Adjusting them could happen later, or we can not bother. libstdc++-v3/ChangeLog: * acinclude.m4 (WARN_FLAGS): Remove -Wsystem-headers. * configure: Regenerate. * include/bits/algorithmfwd.h: #ifdef libstdc++: Only declare feature test macros in standard headers
This change moves the definitions of feature test macros (or strictly speaking, the requests for <bits/version.h> to define them) so that only standard headers define them. For example, <bits/shared_ptr.h> will no longer define macros related to std::shared_ptr, only <memory> and <version> will define them. This means that __cpp_lib_shared_ptr_arrays will not be defined by <future> or by other headers that include <bits/shared_ptr.h>. It will only be defined when <memory> has been included. This will discourage users from relying on transitive includes. As a result, internal headers that need to query the macros should use the internal macros like __glibcxx_shared_ptr_arrays instead of __cpp_lib_shared_ptr_arrays, as those internal macros are defined by the internal headers after icluding <bits/version.h>. There are some exceptions to this rule, because __cpp_lib_is_constant_evaluated is defined by bits/c++config.h and so is available everywhere, and __cpp_lib_three_way_comparison is defined by <compare> which several headers are explicitly specified to include, so its macro is guaranteed to be usable too. N.B. not many internal headers actually need an explicit include of <bits/version.h>, because most of them include <type_traits> and so get all the __glibcxx_foo internal macros from there. libstdc++-v3/ChangeLog: * include/bits/algorithmfwd.h: Do not define standard feature test macro here. * include/bits/align.h: Likewise. libstdc++: Add always_inline to trivial range access functions
This makes all the [iterator.range] functions always-inline, except the ones that construct a std::reverse_iterator, as they do a little more work. They could probably be made always_inline too though, and maybe the std::reverse_iterator constructor too. This means that even for -O0 these functions have no runtime overhead compared with calling a member of the container, or performing pointer arithmetic for arrays. libstdc++-v3/ChangeLog: * include/bits/range_access.h: Add always_inline attribute to trivial functions. |

libstdc++: Introduce new headers for C++20 ranges components
This introduces two new headers: <bits/ranges_base.h> defines the minimal components needed for using C++20 ranges (customization point objects such as std::ranges::begin, concepts such as std::ranges::range, etc.) <bits/ranges_util.h> includes <bits/ranges_base.h> and additionally defines subrange, which is needed by <bits/ranges_algo.h>. Most of the content of <bits/ranges_base.h> was previously defined in <bits/range_access.h>, but a few pieces were only defined in <ranges>. This meant the entire <ranges> header was needed in <algorithm> and <memory>, even though they don't use all the range adaptors. By moving the ranges components out of <bits/range_access.h> that file is left defining just the contents of [iterator.range] i.e. std::begin, std::end, std::size etc. and not C++20 ranges components. For consistency with other C++20 ranges headers, <bits/range_cmp.h> is renamed to <bits/ranges_cmp.h>. libstdc++-v3/ChangeLog: * include/Makefile.am: Add new headers and adjust for renamed header. * include/Makefile.in: Regenerate. * include/bits/iterator_concepts.h: Adjust for renamed header. * include/bits/range_access.h (ranges::*): Move to new <bits/ranges_base.h> header. * include/bits/ranges_algobase.h: Include new <bits/ranges_base.h> header instead of <ranges>. * include/bits/ranges_algo.h: Include new <bits/ranges_util.h> header. * include/bits/range_cmp.h: Moved to... * include/bits/ranges_cmp.h: ...here. * include/bits/ranges_base.h: New header. * include/bits/ranges_util.h: New header. * include/experimental/string_view: Include new <bits/ranges_base.h> header. * include/std/functional: Adjust for renamed header. * include/std/ranges (ranges::view_base, ranges::enable_view) (ranges::dangling, ranges::borrowed_iterator_t): Move to new <bits/ranges_base.h> header. libstdc++: Add compile-time checks to__glibcxx_assert [PR 71960]
This change evaluates __glibcxx_assert checks unconditionally when a
function is being constant evaluated (when std::is_constant_evaluated()
is true). If the check fails, compilation will fail with an error.
If the function isn't being constant evaluated, the normal runtime check
will be done if enabled by _GLIBCXX_ASSERTIONS or _GLIBCXX_DEBUG, the
same as before.
Tangentially, the __glibcxx_assert and _GLIBCXX_PARALLEL_ASSERT macros
are changed to expand to 'do { } while (false)' when assertions are
disabled, instead of expanding to nothing. This avoids -Wempty-body
warnings when a disabled assertion is used in an 'if' or 'else'
statement e.g.
if constexpr (/* precondition is testable */)
__glibcxx_assert(precondition);

libstdc++: Make make-unsigned-like-t<__int128> work [PR 96042]
As well as ensuring that numeric_limits<__int128> is defined, we need to ensure that make-unsigned-like-t and to-unsigned-like work correctly for 128-bit integers in strict mode. libstdc++: integer-class types as per [iterator.concept.winc]
This implements signed and unsigned integer-class types, whose width is one bit larger than the widest supported signed and unsigned integral type respectively. In our case this is either __int128 and unsigned __int128, or long long and unsigned long long. libstdc++: Replace __int_limits with __numeric_traits_integer
I recently added std::__detail::__int_limits as a lightweight alternative to std::numeric_limits, forgetting that the values it provides (digits, min and max) are already provided by __gnu_cxx::__numeric_traits. This change adds __int_traits as an alias for __numeric_traits_integer. This avoids instantiating __numeric_traits to decide whether to use __numeric_traits_integer or __numeric_traits_floating. libstdc++: Implement C++20 changes to insert iterators
std::insert_iterator and std::inserter need to be adjusted for C++20, so that they use ranges::iterator_t. That alias template requires ranges::begin to be defined. Rather than moving the whole of ranges::begin (and related details like ranges::enable_borrowed_range) into <iterator>, this defines a new, simpler version of ranges::begin that is sufficient for ranges::iterator_t to be defined. This works because ranges::iterator_t uses an lvalue reference type, so the logic in ranges::begin for non-lvalue ranges (i.e. borrowed ranges) isn't needed. libstdc++: Give ranges::empty() a concrete return type (PR 93978)
This works around PR 93978 by avoiding having to instantiate the body of
ranges::empty() when checking the constraints of view_interface::operator
bool(). When ranges::empty() has an auto return type, then we must instantiate
its body in order to determine whether the requires expression {
ranges::empty(_M_derived()); } is well-formed. But this means instantiating
view_interface::empty() and hence view_interface::_M_derived(), all before we've
yet deduced the return type of join_view::end(). (The reason
view_interface::operator bool() is needed in join_view::end() in the first place
is because in this function we perform direct initialization of
join_view::_Sentinel from a join_view, and so we try to find a conversion
sequence from the latter to the former that goes through this conversion
operator.)
Giving ranges::empty() a concrete return type of bool should be safe according
to [range.prim.empty]/4 which says "whenever ranges::empty(E) is a valid
expression, it has type bool."
This fixes the test case in PR 93978 when compiling without -Wall, but with -Wall
the test case still fails due to the issue described in PR c++/94038, I think.
I still don't quite understand why the test case doesn't fail without -O.

libstdc++: Fix weakly_incrementable to allow __int128 (PR 93267)
The __iota_diff_t alias can be the type __int128, but that does not satisfy the signed_integral and __is_signed_integer_like concepts when __STRICT_ANSI__ is defined (which is true for -std=c++2a). Because weakly_incrementable is defined in terms of signed_integral, it is not satisfied by __int128, which means iota_view's iterator doesn't always satisfy input_or_output_iterator and so iota_view is not always a range. The solution is to define __max_size_type and __max_diff_type using __int128, so that __is_signed_integer_like allows __int128, and then make weakly_incrementable use __is_signed_integer_like instead of signed_integral. Improve constraints for std::span constructors
This patch simplifies the constraints on the constructors from arrays by removing the redundant checks that element_type and value_type are convertible to element_type. The incorrect uses of __adl_data in those constructors are removed as well (they should use std::data not std::ranges::data, and the former doesn't use ADL). The range/container constructors are now constrained to exclude all specializations of std::span, not just the current instantiation. The range constructor now also checks s subset of the contiguous_range requirements. All relevant constructor constraints now use the _Require helper in order to short circuit and avoid unnecessary instantiations after the first failed constraint. A new constructor supports initialization from different specializations of std::span<OtherType, OtherExtent>, as specified in the C++20 draft. * include/bits/range_access.h (__adl_to_address): Remove. * include/std/span (__is_base_derived_safe_convertible_v): Replace with span::__is_compatible. (__is_std_array_v): Replace with __is_std_array class template and partial specializations. (__is_std_array, __is_std_span): New class templates and partial specializations. (span::__is_compatible): New alias template for SFINAE constraints. (span::span(element_type (&)[N])): Remove redundant constraints. Do not use __adl_data to obtain a pointer. (span::span(array<value_type, N>&)): Likewise. (span::span(const array<value_type, N>&)): Likewise. [_GLIBCXX_P1394] (span::iter_reference_t, span::iterator_t) (span::iter_value_t, span::derived_from): New alias templates for SFINAE constraints, until the equivalents are supported in <concepts> and <iterator>. [_GLIBCXX_P1394] (span::__is_compatible_iterator): New alias template for SFINAE constraints. [_GLIBCXX_P1394] (span::is_compatible_range): New class template for SFINAE constraints. [_GLIBCXX_P1394] (span::span(Range&&)): Improve constraints. [_GLIBCXX_P1394] (span::span(ContiguousIterator, Sentinel)): Likewise. Use std::to_address instead of __adl_to_address. [_GLIBCXX_P1394] (span::span(ContiguousIterator, size_type)): Likewise. [!_GLIBCXX_P1394] (span::__is_compatible_container): New alias template for SFINAE constraints. [!_GLIBCXX_P1394] (span::span(Container&)) (span::span(const Container&)): Improve constraints. [!_GLIBCXX_P1394] (span::span(pointer, size_type)) (span::span(pointer, pointer)): Remove redundant cast of pointer. (span(const span<OType, OExtent>&)): New constructor. From-SVN: r275513 |
