Merge tag 'armsoc-fixes' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc
Pull ARM SoC fixes from Olof Johansson:
"A smaller batch for the end of the week (let's see if I can keep the
weekly cadence going for once).
All medium-grade fixes here, nothing worrisome:
- Fixes for some fairly old bugs around SD card write-protect
detection and GPIO interrupt assignments on Davinci.
- Wifi module suspend fix for Hikey.
- Minor DT tweaks to fix inaccuracies for Amlogic platforms, one
of which solves booting with third-party u-boot"

rseq: Avoid infinite recursion when delivering SIGSEGV
When delivering a signal to a task that is using rseq, we call into __rseq_handle_notify_resume() so that the registers pushed in the sigframe are updated to reflect the state of the restartable sequence (for example, ensuring that the signal returns to the abort handler if necessary). However, if the rseq management fails due to an unrecoverable fault when accessing userspace or certain combinations of RSEQ_CS_* flags, then we will attempt to deliver a SIGSEGV. This has the potential for infinite recursion if the rseq code continuously fails on signal delivery. Avoid this problem by using force_sigsegv() instead of force_sig(), which is explicitly designed to reset the SEGV handler to SIG_DFL in the case of a recursive fault. In doing so, remove rseq_signal_deliver() from the internal rseq API and have an optional struct ksignal * parameter to rseq_handle_notify_resume() instead. arm: port KCOV to arm
KCOV is code coverage collection facility used, in particular, by syzkaller system call fuzzer. There is some interest in using syzkaller on arm devices. So port KCOV to arm. On implementation level this merely declares that KCOV is supported and disables instrumentation of 3 special cases. Reasons for disabling are commented in code. Kbuild: rename CC_STACKPROTECTOR[_STRONG] config variables
The changes to automatically test for working stack protector compiler support in the Kconfig files removed the special STACKPROTECTOR_AUTO option that picked the strongest stack protector that the compiler supported. That was all a nice cleanup - it makes no sense to have the AUTO case now that the Kconfig phase can just determine the compiler support directly. HOWEVER. It also meant that doing "make oldconfig" would now _disable_ the strong stackprotector if you had AUTO enabled, because in a legacy config file, the sane stack protector configuration would look like CONFIG_HAVE_CC_STACKPROTECTOR=y # CONFIG_CC_STACKPROTECTOR_NONE is not set # CONFIG_CC_STACKPROTECTOR_REGULAR is not set # CONFIG_CC_STACKPROTECTOR_STRONG is not set CONFIG_CC_STACKPROTECTOR_AUTO=y and when you ran this through "make oldconfig" with the Kbuild changes, it would ask you about the regular CONFIG_CC_STACKPROTECTOR (that had been renamed from CONFIG_CC_STACKPROTECTOR_REGULAR to just CONFIG_CC_STACKPROTECTOR), but it would think that the STRONG version used to be disabled (because it was really enabled by AUTO), and would disable it in the new config, resulting in: CONFIG_HAVE_CC_STACKPROTECTOR=y CONFIG_CC_HAS_STACKPROTECTOR_NONE=y CONFIG_CC_STACKPROTECTOR=y # CONFIG_CC_STACKPROTECTOR_STRONG is not set CONFIG_CC_HAS_SANE_STACKPROTECTOR=y That's dangerously subtle - people could suddenly find themselves with the weaker stack protector setup without even realizing. The solution here is to just rename not just the old RECULAR stack protector option, but also the strong one. This does that by just removing the CC_ prefix entirely for the user choices, because it really is not about the compiler support (the compiler support now instead automatially impacts _visibility_ of the options to users). This results in "make oldconfig" actually asking the user for their choice, so that we don't have any silent subtle security model changes. The end result would generally look like this: CONFIG_HAVE_CC_STACKPROTECTOR=y CONFIG_CC_HAS_STACKPROTECTOR_NONE=y CONFIG_STACKPROTECTOR=y CONFIG_STACKPROTECTOR_STRONG=y CONFIG_CC_HAS_SANE_STACKPROTECTOR=y where the "CC_" versions really are about internal compiler infrastructure, not the user selections. Merge tag 'overflow-v4.18-rc1-part2' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/kees/linux
Pull more overflow updates from Kees Cook:
"The rest of the overflow changes for v4.18-rc1.
This includes the explicit overflow fixes from Silvio, further
struct_size() conversions from Matthew, and a bug fix from Dan.
But the bulk of it is the treewide conversions to use either the
2-factor argument allocators (e.g. kmalloc(a * b, ...) into
kmalloc_array(a, b, ...) or the array_size() macros (e.g. vmalloc(a *
b) into vmalloc(array_size(a, b)).
Coccinelle was fighting me on several fronts, so I've done a bunch of
manual whitespace updates in the patches as well.
Summary:
- Error path bug fix for overflow tests (Dan)
- Additional struct_size() conversions (Matthew, Kees)
- Explicitly reported overflow fixes (Silvio, Kees)
- Add missing kvcalloc() function (Kees)
- Treewide conversions of allocators to use either 2-factor argument
variant when available, or array_size() and array3_size() as needed
(Kees)"

treewide: kzalloc() -> kcalloc()
The kzalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, kcalloc(). This
patch replaces cases of:
kzalloc(a * b, gfp)
with:
kcalloc(a * b, gfp)
as well as handling cases of:
kzalloc(a * b * c, gfp)
with:
kzalloc(array3_size(a, b, c), gfp)
as it's slightly less ugly than:
kzalloc_array(array_size(a, b), c, gfp)
This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like:
kzalloc(4 * 1024, gfp)
though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion.
Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were
dropped, since they're redundant.
The Coccinelle script used for this was:
// Fix redundant parens around sizeof().

treewide: kmalloc() -> kmalloc_array()
The kmalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, kmalloc_array(). This
patch replaces cases of:
kmalloc(a * b, gfp)
with:
kmalloc_array(a * b, gfp)
as well as handling cases of:
kmalloc(a * b * c, gfp)
with:
kmalloc(array3_size(a, b, c), gfp)
as it's slightly less ugly than:
kmalloc_array(array_size(a, b), c, gfp)
This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like:
kmalloc(4 * 1024, gfp)
though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion.
Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were
dropped, since they're redundant.
The tools/ directory was manually excluded, since it has its own
implementation of kmalloc().
The Coccinelle script used for this was:
// Fix redundant parens around sizeof().

Merge tag 'armsoc-dt' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc
Pull ARM SoC device tree updates from Olof Johansson:
"As always, a large number of DT updates. Too many to enumerate them
all, but at a glance:
New SoCs introduced in this release:
- Amlogic:
+ Meson 8M2 SoC, a.k.a. S812. A quad Cortex-A9 SoC used in some
set top boxes and other products.
- Mediatek:
+ MT7623A, which is a flavor of the MT7623 family with other
on-chip ethernet options.
- Qualcomm:
+ SDM845, a.k.a Snapdragon 845, an 4+4-core Kryo 385/845
(Cortex-A75/A55 derivative) SoC that's one of the current
high-end mobile SoCs.
It's great to see mainline support for it. So far, you can't do
much with it, since a lot of peripherals are not yet in the DTs
but driver support for USB, GPU and other pieces are starting to
trickle in. This might end up being a well-supported SoC
upstream if the momentum keeps up.
- Renesas:
+ R8A77990, a.k.a R-Car E3, a new automotive
entertainment-targeted SoC. Currently only one Cortex-A53 CPU is
enabled, we are eagerly awaiting more. So far, basic drivers
such as serial, gpios, PMU and ethernet are enabled.
+ R8A77470, a.k.a. RZ/G1C, a new dual Cortex-A7 SoC with PowerVR
GPU. Same here, basic set of drivers such as serial, gpios and
ethernet enabled, and SMP support is also forthcoming.
- STMicroelectronics:
+ STM32F469, very similar tih STM32F429 but with display support
Enhancements to SoCs/platforms (DTS contents, some driver portions
might not be in yet):
- Allwinner sun8i (h3/a33/a83t) SMP, DVFS tweaks, misc
- Amlogic Meson: I2C, UFS, TDM, GPIO external interrupts, MMC resets
- Hisilicon hi3660: Thermal cooling, CPU frequency scaling, mailbox interfaces
- Marvell Berlin2CD: SMP support, thermal sensors
- Mediatek MT7623: Highspeed DMA, audio support
- Qualcomm IPQ8074 PCIe support, MSM8996 UFS support
- Renesas: Watchdog and PMU support across many platforms
- Rockchip RK3399: USB3 OTG support
- Samsung Exynos: Audio-over-HDMI on Odroid X/X2/U3
- STMicro STM32: Lots of peripherals added to STM32MP175C
- Uniphier: Ethernet support

Pull ARM SoC platform updates from Olof Johansson: "Here are the main updates for SoC support (besides DT additions) for ARM 32- and 64-bit platforms. The branch also contains defconfig updates to turn on drivers and options as needed on the various platforms. The largest parts of the delta are from cleanups moving platform data and board file setup of TI platforms to ti-sysc bus drivers. There are also some sweeping changes of eeprom and nand setup on Davinci, i.MX and other platforms. Samsung is removing support for Exynos5440, which was an oddball SoC that hasn't been seen much use in designs. Renesas is adding support for new SoCs (R-Car E3, RZ/G1C and RZ/N1D). Pull clk updates from Stephen Boyd: "This time we have a good set of changes to the core framework that do some general cleanups, but nothing too major. The majority of the diff goes to two SoCs, Actions Semi and Qualcomm. Sadly the testing turned out to be less good than we had hoped and so a lot of this had to be reverted. Pull arm64 updates from Catalin Marinas:
"Apart from the core arm64 and perf changes, the Spectre v4 mitigation
touches the arm KVM code and the ACPI PPTT support touches drivers/
(acpi and cacheinfo). I should have the maintainers' acks in place.
Summary:
- Spectre v4 mitigation (Speculative Store Bypass Disable) support
for arm64 using SMC firmware call to set a hardware chicken bit
- ACPI PPTT (Processor Properties Topology Table) parsing support and
enable the feature for arm64
- Report signal frame size to user via auxv (AT_MINSIGSTKSZ). The
primary motivation is Scalable Vector Extensions which requires
more space on the signal frame than the currently defined
MINSIGSTKSZ
- ARM perf patches: allow building arm-cci as module, demote
dev_warn() to dev_dbg() in arm-ccn event_init(), miscellaneous
cleanups
- cmpwait() WFE optimisation to avoid some spurious wakeups
- L1_CACHE_BYTES reverted back to 64 (for performance reasons that
have to do with some network allocations) while keeping
ARCH_DMA_MINALIGN to 128. cache_line_size() returns the actual
hardware Cache Writeback Granule
- Turn LSE atomics on by default in Kconfig
- Kernel fault reporting tidying
- Some #include and miscellaneous cleanups"

mm: introduce ARCH_HAS_PTE_SPECIAL
Currently the PTE special supports is turned on in per architecture header files. Most of the time, it is defined in arch/*/include/asm/pgtable.h depending or not on some other per architecture static definition. This patch introduce a new configuration variable to manage this directly in the Kconfig files. It would later replace __HAVE_ARCH_PTE_SPECIAL. Here notes for some architecture where the definition of __HAVE_ARCH_PTE_SPECIAL is not obvious: arm __HAVE_ARCH_PTE_SPECIAL which is currently defined in arch/arm/include/asm/pgtable-3level.h which is included by arch/arm/include/asm/pgtable.h when CONFIG_ARM_LPAE is set. So select ARCH_HAS_PTE_SPECIAL if ARM_LPAE. powerpc __HAVE_ARCH_PTE_SPECIAL is defined in 2 files: - arch/powerpc/include/asm/book3s/64/pgtable.h - arch/powerpc/include/asm/pte-common.h The first one is included if (PPC_BOOK3S & PPC64) while the second is included in all the other cases. So select ARCH_HAS_PTE_SPECIAL all the time. sparc: __HAVE_ARCH_PTE_SPECIAL is defined if defined(__sparc__) && defined(__arch64__) which are defined through the compiler in sparc/Makefile if !SPARC32 which I assume to be if SPARC64. So select ARCH_HAS_PTE_SPECIAL if SPARC64 There is no functional change introduced by this patch.
